Asia Adult Expo 2016 to Showcase Sex Dolls and More

Asia Adult Expo 2016 to Showcase Sex Dolls and More

HONG KONG — The Asia Adult Expo (AAE) has announced a boost in the number of brands and products that international buyers can expect to see at its upcoming event.

An export oriented trade show, AAE 2016 will be held from August 29-31, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.

According to the show’s promoters, AAE aims to provide a professional B2B platform for international buyers and suppliers to explore new business opportunities, with more than 4,500 buyers representing 45 countries and regions at last year’s event.

A post-show survey of buyers conducted earlier this year revealed that regardless of their country of origin or company size, more than 85 percent of AAE 2015 buyers purchased from the show’s exhibitors, and reordered from them as well. More than 80 percent signaled plans to return to AAE this August.

The survey found that one Australian buyer, Mr. Abela, reported buying more than $60,000 worth of sex toys from several companies; expressing satisfaction with the quality, and anticipating future reorders.

Another Australian buyer, Mr. Charly, bought lingerie and toys from AAE exhibitors, placing small initial orders to test the quality, and now reorders products every month.

Chinese e-commerce operator Mr. Yao, whose online shop reports more than $20,000 in monthly sales, purchased products from 10 AAE vendors, with more than $15,000 in monthly reorders. He plans to return to the show to source more suppliers.

Among those suppliers will be those that specialize in sex dolls.

“Vibrators are no doubt the bestselling products in the market, but there are more and more sex dolls suppliers participating at AAE eager to show their quality products to the world,” says Vertical Expo Services Company Limited CEO Kenny Lo. “[The] adult  industry is booming and China benefits most of all thanks to customers in Japan, Korea and Turkey.”

Lo says that these three countries account for around 15 percent of Chinese sex doll exports.

“Couples buy dolls as well as singletons, as couples find the dolls a safe way to introduce another partner as there are no emotions. It’s sexual exploration without cheating,” Lo says. “Dolls are sometimes introduced as sexual surrogates when one partner is unable to enjoy sex, often for health reasons, but the couples do not want outside lovers. That’s why there is a very high global demand [for] sex dolls.”

Sex doll suppliers attending AAE 2016 include first-time exhibitors 6YE and Shenzhen Joy Model Doll Co.

6YE is the first brand produced by the Dongguan Hengli 6YE factory, and is constructed using imported medical research grade TPE polymer non-toxic silicone rubber (a.k.a. “virtual skin”).

Shenzhen Joy Model Doll Co. toys are made of advanced non-toxic food grade Platinum-cure silicone materials which improve the dolls’ durability and better simulate a human body.
