PAHRUMP, Nev. — An employee of the legal brothel Sheri's Ranch has reviewed Starz TV's series "The Girlfriend Experience," offering her thoughts on the fictional program's portrayal of high-end escorts.
In her post on the Sheri's Ranch blog, titled "Does 'The Girlfriend Experience' Give Good GFE?," employee Allissa described Starz TV's program as "one of the best fictional stories about a prostitute ever told" but said that the character Christine Reade, aka Chelsea, played by Christine Reade, offers an inadequate girlfriend experience to clients.
"In sex work, a girlfriend experience is a session in which the client and courtesan connect on an emotional level and share intimacy that goes beyond the physical," Allissa said, adding that the Chelsea character "gives a pretty crappy GFE. She's ice-cold, detached and shows little interest in her client's emotional needs."
Allissa said, "A real GFE works the opposite way," adding that "we're there for our clients 100 percent, fully engaged, deeply intimate and ready to exceed expectations."
Allissa also said, "If Chelsea from 'The Girlfriend Experience' on Starz worked at a licensed brothel, she probably wouldn't get a lot of repeat customers, which is fine because we already have a beautiful Chelsea working at Sheri's Ranch. And she gives a fantastic GFE."
Located in Pahrump, Nev. 60 miles west of Las Vegas, Sheri's Ranch was purchased by former Chicago homicide detective Chuck Lee in 2001.
