XBIZ Golf Tourney Draws Enthusiastic Crowd

TEMPE, Ariz. – To Mark Twain, “golf is a good walk spoiled,” but to the 50-plus participants in the XBIZ 3rd Annual Phoenix Forum Golf Tournament, a day of golf was a stellar beginning to the webmaster show, which officially kicks off tomorrow.

Held at the ASU Karsten Golf Course on a breezy and uncharacteristically chilly desert afternoon, webmasters played the full 18 holes in a scramble style tournament.

The winning team of Chuck Tsiamis, Kyle O’Bryan and Bjorn Skarlen combined to shoot a 14-under 58. The second place team of Mitch Farber, Dan Hogue, Ycaza Thrush and Shahan shot a 9-under 63.

“Today’s golf tournament was a great event with an awesome turnout,” said Stephen Bugbee, the event’s organizer and XBIZ director of media relations. “I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the Phoenix Forum but to play a round of golf surrounded by peers on this picturesque course. I’d like to thank all the sponsors for making this event possible.”

The XBIZ golf tournament was held to benefit the ASACP, Free Speech Coalition and the Webmaster Children’s Toy Drive 2007.

Post tourney awards were given out at a cocktail and BBQ gathering on the clubhouse’s outdoor patio overlooking the scenic course. Awards included the longest drive sponsored by FTV Cash won by Brad Taylor, a putting contest sponsored by Anabolic/Diabolic Dollars won by Christian Amico and four closest-to-the-pin competitions won by Charlie Fink, Andy Kiefer, John Desjardins and Brad Taylor, sponsored by Mansion Productions, The FUBAR Times, Video Secrets and Silvercash, respectively.

Additionally, a raffle was held, with prizes including iPods, golf clubs, golf bags and cash.

Event sponsors included Yappo Dollars, Webquest, Vivid Cash, Silvercash, NS Cash, Video Secrets, FTV Cash, CE Cash, Matrix Content, CC Bill, Mansion Productions and Red Light Revenue. Additional donations were received from Silvercash, Latin Cash, Sexentertain, Video Secrets, XBIZ, Anabolic/Diabolic Dollars, CE Cash, Lia 19 and Mansion Productions.
