CAM4 Launches Virtual Reality Platform CAM4VR

LOS ANGELES — Ela Darling has announced the launch of CAM4VR, the culmination of more than two years of hard work and innovation.

The adult entertainer and virtual reality pioneer began development of the project in 2014 when Darling launched her own company, VRTube.xxx. The world’s first VR cam girl, Darling is pushing the boundaries of VR technology, developing the patent-pending tech that now powers CAM4VR.

Last month, Darling announced that she had been working on a secret project that would fuse the breakthrough VRTube.xxx technology with new research and development undertaken by global cam platform CAM4, and today marks the official public introduction of their new partnership.

“Plenty of other sites have tried to muscle in and claim they are the first to do VR cams, but that’s okay,”   Darling says. “With VRTube.xxx we were the first to offer a virtual reality live cam platform and now with CAM4, we have been able to scale up in a big way and we are, by far the best. Nobody else can offer the kind of 3D 360° live cam experience that we’re bringing forth.”

CAM4VR is kicking off with a full schedule of up to eight shows per day — significantly more than any other VR cam site today.

“The aim is to ramp up to 24/7 coverage pretty quickly,” Darling reveals, noting that she plans to perform for several hours in the first few days. She will be joined by fellow adult entertainers Raven Rockette, Violet Monroe and Sovereign Syre, plus CAM4’s very own Poison Dollz; with other big name porn stars to be announced in the coming weeks.

Darling sees her offering as empowering for performers.

“This is the first platform where performers are not restricted,” Darling says. “They have the ability to live stream a broadcast in standard 2D and 3D virtual reality at the same time. With other platforms, performers have to ignore their regular fans if they do not currently have a VR headset when they do a VR show. This of course limits their earnings.”

Performers eager to become early adopters of VR camming can apply to be a CAM4VR broadcaster here.

“What CAM4 and I have been determined to do from the start is to enable performers to deliver their content in all formats,” Darling explains, “providing a tailored experience to fans who have the option of watching in standard 2D or VR.”
