Larry Flynt Gets OK to Acquire 2nd Calif. Casino

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — LFP founder Larry Flynt has been OK’d by state regulators to become the new operator of the Normandie Casino in Gardena, Calif.

Thursday afternoon the state Gambling Control Commission approved the sale of the casino, which will be renamed Larry Flynt’s Lucky Lady Casino.

The vote among commission members was unanimous.

The purchase price for the Normandie Casino was not disclosed.

Flynt already owns Gardena’s other gambling establishment, the Hustler Club.

Both casinos, which are two miles apart, must contribute 12 percent of their monthly gross revenues to the city of Gardena, which is within Los Angeles County.

XBIZ reported in May that it was likely that Flynt would take over the Normandie.

At post time it was unclear when Flynt would take over his new acquisition and rebrand it.
