CHICAGO — Trans performer Mia Isabella has addressed the recent controversy involving San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
At an NFL pre-season game, Kaepernick did not stand up during the National Anthem. The NFL star said he was making a political statement.
“I stand with (Kaepernick) because I understand the message,” Isabella told the International Business Times.
Based in her home town of Chicago, Isabella is currently working on a podcast that, according to a spokesperson, will be a “tell-all on her life.”
“(Kaepernick) reminded me that no matter what creed or sexuality or gender, I was a queen,” Isabella said.
