HTC's Viveport Showcases VR Tech

LOS ANGELES — As the tech world rushes forward in its quest to explore virtual reality’s frontiers, and the adult entertainment industry seeks to find its place in this brave new world, HTC’s new Viveport portal is emerging as a showcase of VR’s cutting edge.

Viveport supports HTC’s high-end Vive VR headset and according to the company is positioned “as a place where people can discover the latest and greatest in VR content and experiences.”

It is also the central hub for all things Vive — including VR developers targeting this top-tier platform, making it a tremendous technical resource, as well as an inspirational pool for all content marketers.

“Viveport will feature content across exciting, new categories for VR — [such as] information, edutainment, social media, 360-degree video, news, sports, health, travel and shopping,” notes an HTC spokesperson. “Consumers in 30 countries will be able to browse crazy-cool, immersive experiences in the store [and] we will be inviting both the creator community and Vive users to Viveport as the destination to discover, create, connect, watch and shop for the things they love and need in life.”

“With Viveport,” the rep adds, “we hope to further our missions of unleashing the human imagination from the limitations of reality by offering the most immersive and diverse selection of VR experiences available.”

It’s heady stuff and indicative of the broad hope that VR will change the way that people interact, live and work together.

“We believe equal access to virtual reality experiences will make the world a better place for people and enterprises alike,” explains Rikard Steiber, Senior Vice President of Viveport at HTC. “Viveport will play an important role in giving access to virtual reality experiences that will enhance our daily lives and the way we connect with friends and family.”

“The Vive team and our customers cannot wait to see what new experiences will be shared by our partners in the developer community,” Steiber adds. “With the upcoming Viveport developer initiatives, all creators of VR content will be incentivized to create stunning content thanks to monetization options and new features that will support content creation and distribution, in addition to a focus on customer engagement.”

Adult operators interested in customer engagement may want to take a closer look.
