LOS ANGELES — An abundance of adult performers brought an anti-Proposition 60 message to the Heaven & Hell Halloween Party, held at the W Hotel in Hollywood, Calif. on Saturday night, Oct. 29. Proposition 60, which will be on the ballot in California on Nov. 8, would, if passed, mandate the use of condoms in any adult films shot in the state.
The Heaven & Hell Halloween Party was thrown by adult movie director Will Ryder, producer Scott David and promoter Danny B. The event’s co-sponsors included the Free Speech Coalition, HotMovies.com, Adam & Eve, XBIZ, Naughty Girl L.A., Adult Biz Law and Pulse Distribution.
“We wanted to shine a bright light on the negative effects of California Proposition 60, which has dangerous consequences far beyond what the voter will read in the voting booth come Nov. 8,” Ryder said. “But we wanted to do it in a fun setting so that people can share photos and spread the message.”
Ryder described Proposition 60 as “completely outrageous and a complete waste of taxpayer's money.”
David said, “It's an terribly bad proposition, and our goal is to help the Free Speech Coalition continue to shine a light so that the average California voter sees that this would be a very unfortunate law.”
According to Ryder, “The best way we knew how to help is to put the focus of 'No on 60' at the center of our big Halloween party.”
The Heaven & Hell Halloween Party featured five private “Hell” ballrooms of various shapes and sizes, which housed many celebrities from the adult entertainment industry in a VIP-only corridor, as well as a massive “Heaven” area open to all guests. In the “Heaven” area, a spokesperson said, “performers, directors, producers and industry workers freely mixed with the Hollywood crowd.”
