LOS ANGELES — Jessica Drake has received ten nominations in the 2017 XBIZ Awards, to be held on Thursday, Jan. 12 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles and hosted by Ron Jeremy.
The sex educator and Wicked Pictures contract performer is nominated for Crossover Star of the Year and Sexpert of the Year, and she has received Specialty Release of the Year nominations for “Jessica Drake’s Guide to Wicked Sex: Foreplay” and “Jessica Drake’s Guide to Wicked Sex: Kama Sutra.”
Drake has received two Best Actress: Feature Release nominations — one for Wicked’s “DNA,” the other for Wicked’s “The J.O.B” — and she is up for Best Actress: Couples-Themed Release for her work in Wicked’s “Casual Encounters.”
Drake has received Best Sex Scene: Feature Release nominations for her scenes with Asa Akira and Stormy Daniels in “Sexbots” and Ryan Driller, Scarlet Red, Abella Danger and Eric Masterson in “DNA.” And she is up for Best Sex Scene: Couples-Themed Release for her scene with Derrick Pierce in “Casual Encounters.”
In addition to her ten XBIZ Awards nominations, Drake has been nominated for Community Figure of the Year in the XBIZ Exec Awards, to be held on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at the Andaz Hotel in West Hollywood.
“I would like to thank XBIZ for always supporting 'Jessica Drake’s Guide to Wicked Sex’ along with my passion to evolve and emerge as an educator and advocate for sexual health and wellness,” Drake said. “I am truly grateful for these nominations. It’s so important that we empower people with more knowledge not only for better sex, but also, about other issues like consent, communication, harm reduction and risk awareness. I created ‘Guide to Wicked Sex’ years ago, and as time goes by, I've grown to understand the absolute need for diversity and inclusivity in sex education. And I thank XBIZ for growing along with me.”
On Nov. 16, Drake received a Rise Image Award at the Rise Adult Talent Appreciation Gala at the Hyde Sunset in Hollywood.
“To receive the Rise Image Award is incredibly inspiring,” Drake said. “I stand on the shoulders of some truly amazing people in this industry: Nina, Tristan, Buck Angel, Jiz Lee, just to name a few. Years ago, I saw the ability to take a platform I have been given as an adult star and harness that to spread a message about sex that folks need to hear. I am passionate about advocacy for adult performers and sex workers and will always try to use my powers for good to defend and protect the industry that made me who and what I am today.”
Drake said, “I am so incredibly grateful to (CEO) Steve (Orenstein) at Wicked Pictures for choosing me as a brand representative all those years ago and for continuing to support me on this path. I am thankful for the work and support of Daniel Metcalf, and for all the efforts and encouragement from Fine Ass Marketing. This is truly a team effort. Thank you.”
“Jessica Drake’s Guide to Wicked Sex” won Specialty Release of the Year in the XBIZ Awards in 2012 and 2015.
