AdultProductsIndia.com Sees Market Growth in India

MUMBAI — Online pleasure products retailer AdultProductsIndia.com, which discreetly ships high-quality and trusted brands in India, said it is seeing market growth in India.

“No one has to know that you just bought a brand-new cream or even condoms,” the company said. “It is the easiest and most efficient way of getting what you need without getting shamed for it.

The outlook for the next three years is a bright one as more people in India are opening up to the convenience of buying sexual products online, the company said.

DESIbitz.com said that India contributed to 5-10 percent of the global web searches for adult products. Another study made in 2014 said that pleasure products growth in India was forecasted to move forward by 35 percent through 2019.

There are many reasons for the recent explosion in growth such as increased desire for excitement and adventure as well as increased openness, according market analysts.

There are not many places in India where one can confidently and discreetly purchase sexual goods for themselves or others.

The reason for this is because, according to Section 292 of Indian Penal Code 1860, which forbids the distribution and sale of anything deemed “obscene.”

“Now, what exactly is categorized under the label of “obscene” is not made explicitly clear,” the company said. “What is clear is that items promoting sexual wellness and health — such as condoms, certain oils and lubricants, medicines and herbs — are not seen as obscene but things like porn and adult toys are seen as lewd and obscene and so they cannot be sold in stores.”

Marketing products outside of the internet is not an option, so people are taking to finding different ways to legally promote and educate people about their products, the company said.
