Wankz Seeks PornHub Uploader Data in Subpoena

LOS ANGELES — PornHub has been ordered to hand over names, email addresses, IP addresses, user histories, telephone numbers and other identifying information related to uploaded Wankz-branded videos that allegedly appear on the adult tube site.

The subpoena was requested by Foshan Ltd., which produces and distributes Wankz.com and WankzVR.com videos, and lists more than 1,000 videos it found on PornHub.com and PornHubPremium.com.

Attorney Lawrence Walters, who was PornHub’s designated DMCA agent, declined comment to XBIZ relative to the subpoena, which was filed and approved by a court clerk last week.

The adult tube site giant has until May 1 to hand over the requested information to Wankz counsel — the Los Angeles law firm of Glaser Weil Howard Avchen & Shapiro — unless it decides to appeal.

PimpRoll rolled out Wankz in April 2015 with a focus on distributing 4K content to “consumers interested in paying for top-quality adult entertainment,” PimpRoll Vice President Phil Bradbury said at the time. In April 2016, Wankz starting offering VR porn.

Company officials for PimpRoll and MindGeek, PornHub’s parent company, did not immediately respond for XBIZ comment.
