"Curse Eternal" is the second Wicked film to be released in high-definition. "Camp Cuddly Pines Powertool Massacre" was released on the format in December.
"We realize that there are a lot of titles on the market," said Joy King, director of special projects for Wicked. "We wanted to give retailers a place to put the HD DVD titles so that they don't get lost in the shuffle of products."
King told XBIZ that the countertop displays are big enough to hold two to five titles, and with Wicked's logo displayed on its header, customers can't miss it.
"It's not big, but we wanted a way to highlight the fact that the titles were HD," King said. "And that they are a true HD DVD product, not just filmed with an HD camera."
King also said she recently watched "Curse Eternal" on her newly purchased HD TV and was blown away by the quality.
"Honestly, it looked like they were in the room," King said.
"Curse Eternal" stars jessica drake, Kaylani Lei, Tory Lane and Keri Sable, and is directed by Brad Armstrong.
