Wicked contract performer Stormy Daniels, who co-wrote the script, will also direct and star.
"It is the biggest budget Wicked Pictures has ever shot," Daniels says, confirming the press release that mentions a six-figure budget.
The screenplay, written by Daniels and Marcus London, is a spoofy pastiche of recent spy and secret-agent films, with scenes set in Iraq (to be shot in the California desert) and Ron Jeremy playing Saddam Hussein. The running time could reach three hours.
"It's comedy, but there's a lot of very hard fast action, stunt work, explosions … It's a mainstream movie — with a bit of sex thrown in," says Daniels' coscenarist and costar Marcus London.
"A lot of hot harem girls, fighting, and one very ornery camel," Daniels adds.
When asked what she thinks will be her biggest challenge in the production, Daniels contemplates for a moment, then says, "Coordinating all the action scenes. I'm in most of them, and I've never really shot action before. We have four fight scenes and two explosions."
These scenes involve hand-to-hand combat, shooting stunt performers into the air with air ramps, and dropping performer Steven St. Croix off a balcony.
"I'm using one and a half crews, with Jake Jacobs and Francois Clouzot on camera. Michael Raven will do third camera two days. We have three cameras on the days we do explosions. We have one shot to blow up that Jeep. I have the most amazing cast and crew I think I could ask for. Marcus has been working on this for a year with me"
"I'm scared," she says, with a confident smile. "I don't think anybody in the industry has tried this before: writing, directing, and starring in something."
"I'm crazy."
The cast of "Operation Desert Stormy" also includes Randy Spears, Kaylani Lei, and Tommy Gunn. Jonathan Morgan is slated to assist in direction and edit the production. Plans call for a September release, just in time for awards consideration.
Wicked Pictures has announced an open casting call for speaking and non-speaking parts at the Wicked offices Friday, January 13th, from 12-5 p.m. The call is open to all industry talent, whether they've shot for Wicked previously or not.
