Playboy TV Latin America and Iberia, which targets Spanish and Portuguese speakers, has a presence in the U.S., Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Spain and Portugal.
Playboy TV Latin America and Iberia is primarily owned by Claxson Interactive Group, an operator of pay television and terrestrial radio broadcasting in South America primarily owned by HM Capital Partners and Venezuelan media company Cisneros Group. Playboy Entertainment Group has a share in Playboy TV Latin America and Iberia.
With the soft launch, Lifestyle TV will be available to all carriers by September, Claxson officials said.
Claxson and Playboy Entertainment Group have had great success with Playboy TV in the region and, with the launch just announced, is planning to expand the brand further. In Mexico alone, Playboy TV posted a 33 percent growth rate while sister stations Private Gold and Venus rose 100 percent and 128 percent respectively.
