Mayor Gavin Newsom named May 2 "Conan O'Brien Day," which prompted the comedian to research who else in the country shares with him the distinction of being given an honorary day.
Newsom proclaimed Feb. 23 COLT Studio Day, and O'Brien saved that mention for last, garnering laughs from the audience after displaying the "Waterbucks 2" boxcover onscreen.
"I'm in good company," O'Brien said.
COLT President John Rutherford told XBIZ that he's excited to have the mainstream exposure. He and his crew are currently filming in Hawaii, and after hearing about their "15 seconds of fame," he said they all watched the episode from his laptop.
"Nice to see our hard work and dedication to COLT, the pinnacle brand, getting the recognition it deserves," Rutherford said.
