ASACP to Tackle Age Verification at Webmaster Access

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has announced its return to Amsterdam for the annual Webmaster Access business and networking event, set for Sept. 8-11, at the Hilton Doubletree Hotel.

The promoters of Webmaster Access graciously provided the association with complimentary hotel accommodations and free registration.

“The ASACP’s mission without question is one of the single most important endeavors in our industry,” said a Webmaster Access rep. “We’re proud to support their incredible efforts to protect children worldwide and we encourage our Webmaster Access attendees to connect with Tim at the show.”

ASACP’s executive director Tim Henning will attend the event, where he will educate stakeholders about the need to protect children online and how ASACP services such as the Restricted To Adults (RTA) website meta-label, Best Practices and its Code of Ethics help enable this endeavor.

“Webmaster Access targets frontline operators in the adult entertainment segments of the European digital media and mobile industries,” Henning stated. “These events draw many professionals that may not typically travel to U.S.-hosted events, leveraging the importance of the perennially popular Webmaster Access gathering.”

At noon on Saturday, Sept. 9, in the venue’s Leeds 1 room, Henning will participate in a seminar titled, “Age Verification and the U.K. Law,” offering the most up-to-date information about the state of age verification on adult sites and revealing how attendees can prepare their business for the U.K.’s Digital Economy Act, which takes effect in April 2018.

In addition to Henning, Alastair Graham from AgeChecked, Vince Charlton from AdultWork, Verime’s Rudd Apsey, David Cooke from AgeID and AVSecure’s Stephen Winyard, will be on hand to lend their expertise and insights on adult’s most pressing issue today, the association reported.

At noon on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 3:00 p.m., in the venue’s Galsgow 2 room, Henning will be making a presentation at one of CCBill’s Labs regarding the work ASACP is engaged in on behalf of the industry.

“Webmaster Access attracts many website operators that have visitors from the U.K.,” Henning added. “These folks are now faced with having to implement online age verification measures — measures that will affect everyone with U.K. traffic soon — making this a ‘must attend’ session for those who wish to keep their businesses running safely into the future.”
