The FSC has posted the full text of its new three-year plan on its official website.
FSC Executive Director Diane Duke told XBIZ that the FSC isn't trying to fix any mistakes with its new plan. Rather, they want to hone the focus of their mission and strengthen internal accountability.
"It's so easy to let a whole year pass and look back on it and find that all your actions have been reactive," she said. "We want to be more proactive."
That new initiative starts with the FSC's three-year plan, which is broken into five sections: membership, public relations, government, organizational development and litigation. It covers a lot of territory, but two of the biggest changes include the new charitable sub-organization and the added internal oversight.
The new sub-organization will be a separate 501 (c)3 charitable organization that will be eligible for tax-deductible donation. Duke added that this new wing will focus on reaching out to the community to teach them about the value of free speech and adult entertainment.
"We really want to help people come out of the closet and say they're consumers of adult entertainment," she said. "That's our main plan."
The current FSC is a 501 (c)6 organization.
Duke said that new committees will establish a "just and fair" system of choosing lawyers to represent the company, as well as cases for them to pursue.
The new mission statement reads: "[The FSC's mission is to] lead, protect and support the growth and well-being of the adult entertainment community."
