HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — AdamMale has announced the celebration of its 20-year anniversary.
The gay male division of retail giant AdamAndEve.com launched as a website in November 1997 and took off in December of that year when its first marketing offer went out via United States Post.
“We didn’t start with a full catalog at first. We mailed eight-page flyers and the response was overwhelming,” says AdamMale spokesperson Bobby Stone. “At first, we were only mailing names from the Adam & Eve file (our sister company), but we quickly realized there was a huge demand for gay material.”
Stone says at the time, gay male products were quite controversial and not readily available for consumers, leading to the company’s rapid growth and more than $1 million in sales by the end of its first year in operation.
“From 2000 to 2006,” Stone adds, “AdamMale was voted Best Adult Novelty Site in the Cybersocket Web Awards, and boasts numerous awards and nomination in the adult field.”
To celebrate its anniversary, AdamMale will be offering 50 percent off (almost) any one item and free shipping in the U.S. throughout December on orders using the code “TWENTY” at checkout.
