xHamster Reveals Winter Olympics Porn Viewing Trends

LOS ANGELES — The whole world was watching as the 2018 Winter Olympics arrived in Pyeongchang, South Korea, where global athleticism was on display, amidst a backdrop of politics and “personal best” perseverance.

Now that the Olympics have concluded and Sunday’s closing ceremony completed, xHamster has taken on the final set of numbers from this global competition — compiling and releasing statistics on how the games impacted the habits of porn viewers.

“Over the past two weeks, we’ve seen the amazing successes, heart-wrenching defeats … and some of the sexiest Olympic athletes ever. From Lindsey Vonn and Karen Chen to everyone’s favorite shirtless Tongan, Pita Taufatofua, we’ve seen plenty of blood-rushing action,” says xHamster VP Alex Hawkins. “But could all those superhuman feats really inspire us in other ways?”

According to Hawkins, it turns out the answer is “yes.”

“We looked at traffic to xHamster during the Olympics, and compared it to similar non-Olympic periods, and found there were distinct differences,” Hawkins explains, “most notably in how we view the sex appeal of various nationalities.”

As for which country fielded the hottest Olympic athletes, xHamster reveals the winning medalists, with the Gold going to the Netherlands, named the hottest Olympic team based on the searches of millions of xHamster fans who showed a more than 12 percent increase in search volume for “Dutch” content — the biggest jump in national-based searches during the games.

The company suspects some of this increase was driven by Olympic Ice Skater (and celebrity moose-knuckler), Sven Kramer.

The Silver and Bronze medals for increased athlete-nation searches go to Korea and Italy, respectively.

As for the hottest Olympic Villagers, xHamster gives Austria the Gold.

“The Dutch may look good on TV, but the nationality driving the most intense interest from South Koreans? The Austrians,” Hawkins says. “We looked at search results across the country, and saw searches for Austria jump an astounding point. We’re not sure what was happening at the Olympic Village, but South Koreans were screaming for more of that strudel.”

The Silver and Bronze medals for increased Olympic Village searches go to Switzerland and the U.S., respectively.

With these stats in mind, Hawkins says that when it comes to Olympic Spirit, we’re all winners, citing a whopping 553 percent jump in searches for Olympic-themed porn during the games.

“At xHamster, we know the strong appeal of taught bodies engaged in acts of superhuman skill and unimaginable endurance,” Hawkins concluded, adding, “To all our unconventional gymnasts, wrestlers, shooters, jumpers, riders and handballers — we salute you! See you at Tokyo 2020!”
