Lucas Entertainment, Maleflixxx Ink Digital Partnership

NEW YORK — Gay production company Lucas Entertainment and gay video-on-demand provider Maleflixxx have announced plans to develop and implement a distribution strategy for Lucas Entertainment, the first time that Maleflixxx has worked with a content producer to develop a new distribution model for the digital marketplace. Maleflixxx will exclusively distribute Lucas Entertainment’s video catalog in all digital distribution channels worldwide, including online VOD, television, mobile and IPTV.

"We're looking at working very closely with them in terms of being able to distribute their content through all the digital mediums that exist across the different channels," Eric Johnson, president of Sureflix Digital Distribution, told XBIZ. Sureflix owns and operates the Maleflixxx global network.

"Most studios look at managing digital rights, looking after legal agreements, negotiating in different countries — having to negotiate and maintain those relationships — as being an enormous headache. We can take their content and deploy it across all these different channels. It makes it a slam dunk for them. They don't have to worry about all those headaches."

“It is a great partnership for us," Michael Lucas said. "We can keep our focus on producing the world’s best content and have confidence in knowing that there is a large team of digital specialists supporting us to find markets for that content. “

Performer and director Michael Lucas founded Lucas Entertainment in 1998 in New York City to showcase the city’s diversity of types and ethnicities. Lucas directs, produces and stars in his own films under the Lucas Entertainment banner. There are four Lucas Entertainment production lines: the Auditions collection, the Fire Island Cruising collection, the International collection and the Manhattan collection.
