Good For Her Manager Chanelle Gallant told XBIZ that winners in the 12 categories are chosen by the company's staff, who use three distinct criteria in their decision.
The winner must encompass at least two of the three necessary components: A woman must have had a prominent role in its production, the film must show authentic female pleasure, and the film must expand the range of sexual expression for women by going beyond the typical stereotypes of female sexuality.
Hottest Group Sex Scene went to Femme Productions' "Under the Covers," while the Hottest Gonzo Scene and Hottest Diverse Cast both went to Tristan Taormino's Vivid release "Chemistry." The Best Smutty Schoolteacher award, given to an outstanding educational film, was given to Betsy Kalin for "Hearts Cracked Open."
The Best Feature award went to Vivid's "The Masseuse."
"When they hear 'feminist porn,' people assume it's softcore with romance in all of them," Gallant said. "Our winners cross all genres," which she said surprises people.
Attendees of the Good For Her Porn Awards enjoyed burlesque performances, a drag show and karaoke at the Gladstone Ballroom.
