PureVanilla.com Hits 10,000 Member Mark

NEW YORK — Pure Vanilla Exchange Inc. has announced that its anonymous payment portal PureVanilla.com has acquired more than 10,000 members, an achievement that the company said reflects strong response to its anonymous billing model on the part of consumers and merchants alike.

“We are extremely gratified that so many consumers appreciate the privacy, ease and security with which they can make Internet purchases,” said Kathy Kennedy-Ayre, vice president of marketing for Pure Vanilla Exchange. “Our state-of-the art system is completely owned and controlled by our company, which allows us to offer our new level of privacy protection.”

Kennedy-Ayre told XBIZ that the key to Pure Vanilla’s growth is that the company has “managed to prove that we’re here to stay.”

Given the history of billing companies that have served the online adult entertainment industry, Kennedy-Ayre noted, longevity is very much a legitimate concern for merchants, consumers and webmasters.

“People are beginning to see that we’re not going away,” Kennedy-Ayre said. “We always pay on time, which is what really matters to the webmasters.”

For consumers, Kennedy-Ayre noted that privacy concerns are paramount, especially given that Pure Vanilla’s business model is founded upon the promise of providing consumers the ability to shop online anonymously.

“With the recent award of our systems’ Level 1 CISP [Cardholder Information Security Program] compliance, PureVanilla.com is now processing transactions at the highest level of security recognized by the payment processing industry,” Kennedy-Ayre said.

Kennedy-Ayre said that while Pure Vanilla’s anonymous billing model lends itself to other sensitive areas of online commerce where shopping with anonymity might be desirable, “adult is absolutely the focus.”

Kennedy-Ayre said that Pure Vanilla is currently accepted by approximately 300 adult sites, and new sites are signing up every day.
