MindGeek Adds Tron, ZenCash as Cryptocurrency Payment Options

BURBANK, Calif. — MindGeek has expanded its cryptocurrency payment options to soon accept Tron and ZenCash for all of its websites, including Pornhub and Brazzers, as well as for traffic-related purchases with TrafficJunky.

News of the cryptocurrency additions follow a MindGeek announcement in April that it was accepting Verge, another cryptocurrency, for its properties.

Both ZenCash and Tron currencies launched last year and run on a decentralized secure node network.

Tron’s token, TRX, has been one of fastest-growing cryptocurrencies. ZenCash is a cryptocurrency based on the popular Equihash mining algorithm.

Pornhub Vice President Corey Price said in a statement today: “Here at Pornhub, as one of the most viewed websites in the world with over 90 million daily visitors, it’s important that we continue to expand our crypto payment options to align with our community’s growing payment preferences.”

“Decentralized payment systems have continued to grow in popularity, and cryptocurrency adoption is exploding across a broad economic spectrum,” Price said. “Today, cryptocurrencies are especially viable in the adult entertainment industry because they are privacy-centric and incorporate more anonymity tools than traditional tender.”

Robert Viglione, ZenCash co-founder, said today: “We are excited to provide a private payment option for over 115 million daily users on the MindGeek websites. The exposure to the digital entertainment industry provides an excellent use-case for ZenCash by giving individuals the ability to pay for digital entertainment privately without fear of exposure. ZenCash uses the best privacy technology available in the market.”
