Video: Sunny Leone's Life Story Is Told in New Biopic

LOS ANGELES — Sunny Leone, who gravitates well in the hearts and minds of porn and Bollywood lovers worldwide, tweeted last night about a new biopic coming out this month: “Karenjit Kaur — The Untold Story of Sunny Leone.”

Along with the tweet, Leone supplied a link to a trailer for the new web series debuting on Zee5, a new over-the-top platform that is currently available in India and will roll out in global markets over the next three months.

Leone, one of the most popularly searched adult stars on the web even today after leaving the industry years ago, won numerous several XBIZ Awards while at the top of her porn game, including in 2008 as Web Babe of the Year and in 2012 as Porn Star of the Year. She was even a host of the XBIZ Awards.

After adult, she later moved over to independent mainstream events, as well as Bollywood films and TV shows.

Sharing the trailer, Leone wrote, “You have seen Sunny Leone... Now it’s time to meet #KarenjitKaur.”

Produced by Namah Pictures, the biopic revolves around the journey of Leone, who was born Karenjit Kaur in a middle-class Sikh family in Canada. It traces her transition from a little girl to becoming an adult film star, along with her subsequent rise in Bollywood.

U.K. actress Rysa X plays Leone in her early years, but Leone jumps in during her later part of her life in the feature.

“Karenjit Kaur — The Untold Story of Sunny Leone” will premiere Monday, July 16, on Zee5. Check out the trailer here.
