'Taboo' Event To Mix 'Live Debauchery,' BDSM, Politics, More

LOS ANGELES — The worlds of “unsafe art and photography,” performance and politics, with a dose of adult entertainment and BDSM, will mix-and-mingle Friday, Sept. 7 in Los Angeles for “Taboo: An Evening of Art, Photography and Live Debauchery.”

The event is being organized by Romantic Rock, which bills itself as a “rock ‘n’ roll, unique, art management company and art show production brand.”

Soma Snakeoil, an event producer and one of the night’s featured artists, emphasized the role of provocative art in today’s charged political climate. “Taboo” will feature music and live performances as well as art exhibits from “some of the leading provocateurs in their respective fields.”

“We have brought together some incredibly talented creators. ‘Taboo’ will be a blend of visual art and live performances that are unsettling, rebellious, poignant and vital to these tumultuous times.”

“ ‘Taboo’ is an erotic art experience. It will be a night to remember thanks to our lineup of sensual and savage visual artists, performers and artisan vendors,” Snakeoil said. “Join us to be titillated, educated and disturbed. Creative dress suggested. Wear what makes you feel delicious, delightful, rebellious or vicious.”

Artists and performers currently scheduled to appear include Nedda Afsari, Cage of the Soul, Libby Coy, Warren Fitzgerald, An Li, Kai Martin, Schlonglord, Stark Graving Mad and Tuesday X.

Erotic art and performance is currently set to include striptease by Bella Bathory, the Chubby Cherubs, Dominatrixes Against Donald, Jewell Marceau, bondage from Nikki Nefarious and body painting by Showzart.

Live music and DJ sets are set to include Vanessa Burgundy and Monique Powell of Save Ferris.

“Taboo” is set for Friday, Sept. 7 from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Dungeon West in Central Los Angeles. An address will be provided upon ticket purchase and receipt of an RSVP. The event is 21-and-over and will include a full cash bar.
