FSC Releases Update on Las Vegas Test

LOS ANGELES — The Free Speech Coalition today issued a news update about a potentially falsified test announced last week.

The FSC said the following:

The FSC has now spoken with both performers involved in the potentially falsified test last week in Vegas. However, without a copy or image of an actual manipulated test, we have have not been able to fully determine if the test was actually altered, or just out of date.

We have confirmed, however, that the performer in question attempted to work beyond the 14-day industry standard, which his co-performer rightfully declined. The performer in question has been warned that any further incidents or allegations could result in a PASS ban.

Regardless of the specifics of this test, no performer or producer in this industry should ever accept or use a paper test or digital image as validation. In addition to the potential for falsification, paper tests, PDFs and screenshots can be misread and availability dates can be miscalculated. Only verification in the PASS database should be acceptable.

  • If a person performer attempts to present a paper or PDF test, verify it immediately in the PASS database.
  • If there is a discrepancy, or the test appears manipulated, please document as best as possible, and report it to FSC immediately.
  • All available performers should be listed in the PASS database. If a person does not appear in PASS, please contact FSC or a testing clinic.
  • If you have any other questions or concerns contact FSC.

Further, no performer should ever accept work beyond the 14-day testing protocol. The 30-day protocol used by some producers prior to 2013 has not been PASS compliant for nearly five years. The risk for STI transmission rises exponentially after 14 days.

Any person who alters a test — whether digitally, on paper, or otherwise — is banned from the PASS database. All participating clinics are informed of the violation, and registration in PASS is revoked.
