LOS ANGELES — Chick Media CEO Kelly Holland will be attending MIPCOM to discuss the upcoming launch of The Chick Channel, which will offer new programming showing off erotica created by women but targeting a broad, diverse audience.
Holland, former owner and CEO of Penthouse, is bringing two finished shows that are concurrently in production on new episodes to the annual trade show in Cannes, France.
Chick Media also is in discussions with technology companies to launch a unique platform delivering programming, interactive entertainment and informational services.
The Chick Channel, which is expected to launch in the first quarter of next year, brings together women directors, writers and producers of erotica. The channel’s mission is to facilitate new views and voices for erotic programming.
“I am excited to bring all of Chick Media’s hot properties to MIPCOM,” Holland said. “There is a growing demand for female positive, erotic programming. We live in a world of almost limitless, free pornography; fungible, interchangeable and indistinguishable.
“We have the opportunity to entertain, educate and excite discriminating viewers around the world. I think it’s about time. We’re looking forward to meeting with licensees and partners as we prepare to launch The Chick Channel next year.”
Programming will include full features, shot in 4K, available in both erotic and explicit formats, multiple reality series and talk shows. The channel will launch with a library of original Chick Media programming as well as licensed content with monthly refreshes of 10 hours.
Holland is bringing to MIPCOM a show called “The Sexperts,” a candid talk show hosted by a panel of renowned sex therapists. Each episode features one couple and the challenges they face in their intimate lives. The panel of sexperts offer creative, practical and sexy strategies to get their sex lives back on track.
Also featured at MIPCOM will be “Naked Hollywood,” an up-close and personal, backstage program takes viewers on the set and into the lives of the stars of the adult business. This behind-the-scenes, between-the-sheets, half-hour show is shot in 4K and is available in multiple formats including explicit, erotic and R-rated. The series was first produced in 2011 and aired around the world on several platforms including Bravo UK, Virgin TV, SBS Holland and Direct TV in the U.S. A new season is currently in production.
