Reason Party's Fiona Patten Releases New Election Video

MELBOURNE — With the next Victorian state election just weeks away, the Reason Party’s Fiona Patten has released a new video explaining why voters should reelect her back into Parliament.

Patten is the Reason Party’s national spokesperson and leader in Australia. Since being elected to the Victorian Parliament in 2014, she’s initiated changes to drug law reform, ridesharing and voluntary assisted dying, among other pieces of legislation.

The Reason Party is a new, forward-looking movement for inclusive change, Patten said. It is formerly known as the Australian Sex Party.

“Reason stands for reasonable people who want real change for the better,” Patten said. “For equality, for sustainability and for freedom. From young people who can’t afford a place to live, to older people who want to be able to die with dignity, and everyone in between who want to bring sanity back into our politics.”

The election will be held on Saturday, Nov. 24, to elect the 59th Parliament of Victoria, including all 88 seats in the Legislative Assembly and all 40 in the Legislative Council. Early voting opens Monday, Nov. 12.
