LOS ANGELES — Providing insights into search trends surrounding one of the most stunning confluences of sexuality and technology — the new generation of sex dolls and robots — xHamster has released its internal stats on the subject.
According to the company, the statistics reveal the number of global searches on the platform between 2016 and 2019, with January of 2016 seeing 85,646,619 total unique searches, of which 955 (0.0011 percent) were for “robot,” while 138,587,364 total unique searches, of which 2,390 (0.0017 percent) were for “robot,” occurred in January of 2019.
“The most popular year for sex robots was 2017,” says xHamster VP Alex Hawkins. “We have seen a small decrease in 2018-2019, but expect searches to remain increased from the searches in Jan 2016.”
The highwater mark was in September of 2018 when out of 129,890,819 total unique searches, 3,716 (0.0029 percent) were for “robot.”
