NEW YORK — CineKink has announced that filmmaker Jennifer Lyon Bell, an award-winning alumni of the festival, will be presented with its first-ever CineKink Artist Spotlight award.
As the featured artist of the festival’s 16th edition, Bell’s latest film, “Adorn” will premier on Saturday April 6 at 1 p.m. (EST) at the Anthology Film Archives along with a behind-the-scenes documentary about its making, as part of the shorts program “Work It.” Bell will be on hand following the screening for an audience discussion.
“We first screened Jennifer’s work in 2006, her short film ‘Headshot,’ and we’ve been honored to feature all of her cinematic offerings ever since,” said Lisa Vandever, CineKink co-founder and director. “Her unique ability to combine a great sense of story and artistic filmmaking, along with explicit imagery and a feminist sensibility, definitely put her in the vanguard of adult cinema and set a high bar to which other filmmakers can aspire.”
“I have always loved screening my work at CineKink,” said Bell. “Their audiences are so engaged, and their entertaining and thoughtful programming spans genres in a way that always inspires feisty discussion. They champion erotic, explicitly sexual, and openly pornographic film without hesitation, which means so much to me as a filmmaker — especially in today’s repressive cultural climate.”
Bell will also offer a reprise of her filmmaking workshop, “From Fantasy to Film: Design Your Own Porn Film” on Sunday April 7 from 2-5 p.m. (EST) at Bowery Bliss. Intended as a beginner’s creative exploration, attendees will be given the tools to plan and envision their very own porn movie.
CineKink will conclude with its annual Awards Celebration on Sunday, April 7 from 7-8:30 p.m. (EST) where Bell will be recognized for her outstanding achievement and body of work.
CineKink NYC will run April 3-7.
