HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — During a live drawing yesterday, Adam & Eve franchisees gathered online for a “We-Vibe Derby” contest and a raffle giveaway that’s part of the retail chain’s month-long takeover promotion with WOW Tech.
Decked out in sequins, wigs and sunglasses, Adam & Eve Stores national business consultant Chad Jenny was joined by WOW Tech’s Samantha Brown for the live-streaming event. The 20-minute broadcast kicked off with a race between WOW Tech vibes.
“The Tango was the heavy favorite once the stores ‘placed their bets’ and four different stores won free shipping [for the month of June],” Jenny told XBIZ, noting that prizes also included a $100 WOW Tech product credit for second place, and third place received a $50 WOW credit.
“Putting a little flair and excitement is a major key to success for promotions,” Jenny said. “That’s why we wore the funky clothes and created a party atmosphere. Everyone got to tune in and have some fun during their day. Nothing is more boring than the average old webinar hearing another person drone on about medical-grade silicone or quiet motors. We all get it! Spice it up a bit, make me laugh and I will retain more info.”
After a presentation on We-Vibe’s new Moxie panty vibe, it was time for the raffle. The grand prize included a Moxie for each employee of the winning store, a $100 gift card, and Adam & Eve and We-Vibe logo work shirts. During the broadcast it was revealed that WOW Tech had doubled the prize and would award two winners. The random drawing revealed Adam & Eve stores in Pocatello, Idaho and Norwood, Massachusetts as the big winners.
“We are so happy for Pocatello and Norwood,” Jenny said. “Both those stores, and all the others, put in so much hard work. It is nice to see it recognized and rewarded.”
According to Jenny it was the incentives that made the promotion a success.
“Everybody offers discounts now — but a discount, the chance to win some fabulous prizes, and getting to see me in a mohawk wig is a definite combination for success … and laughs,” Jenny said. “B2B promotions are key to connect with managers and sales associates. While appealing to the customer directly of course pays dividends, don’t forget about the people who are selling your product and teaching the world about your brand every day. If they love you and your brand, who do you think they will recommend? Respect that, apply it, and you will see your sales rise and the relationships with your stores strengthen.”
To qualify for the raffle, stores had to purchase six Moxie vibes and build a display. According to Jenny, 37 stores qualified in the raffle, which resulted in 240 Moxie units sold, contributing to a total of 866 units of all WOW Tech products being sold throughout the promotion.
As part of the WOW Tech Take Over Month, the homepage to Adam & Eve’s wholesale site featured banners that were updated weekly, along with showcasing WOW Tech items as “Featured Products.”
