BARCELONA — In honor of the third anniversary of Bijoux Indiscret’s Orgasm Sound Library, the company has conducted a study of its 1,200 recorded real orgasms.
Billed as the world’s first orgasm sound library, OrgasmSoundLibrary.com has racked up more than 13 million visits, 5 million streams and more than 1,200 real orgasm sounds mostly from Spain, U.S., and Latin America.
In another study, Bijoux Indiscrets found that 66 percent of participants had a “fictitious view of sex.” According to the company, 40 percent of men want their sexual relations to resemble pornography, while 45 percent of women wish sexual encounters were more like they are in romantic films.
"Fiction teaches us one thing, but reality shows us another,” said Elsa Viegas, designer and co-founder of the brand. “Cinema, including pornography, sells us the idea that female pleasure is only obtained through penetration. However, 74 percent of women inquired affirm that orgasms reached through external, i.e. clitoral, stimulation were more intense and frequent than during sex."
Because the orgasm audio recordings are submitted anonymously, the company says 13.7 percent of the submissions are from unknown regions. Of the countries with the submissions, Bijoux Indiscrets says Spain tops the list with 17 percent of the donations, followed by U.S. with 13.2 percent and France with 8.2 percent.
The company also shared its top five most-streamed orgasms: “Intense Orgasm After a Week” (73,211 streams. Unknown origin), “Pulsión” (54,656 streams. From Mexico), “Explosión Femenina” (48,467 streams. From Spain.), “De Sur Le Fil Du Rasoir” (48,180 streams. From Germany.), and “Oohhhh Wow” (45,922 streams. From Colombia.)
