LAS VEGAS — Sin in the City has announced that Feminista Jones, the award-winning sex-positive feminist author, public speaker, and activist has signed on as the 2020 Keynote Speaker.
Kicking off on January 30 and running through February 2 of next year, the 8th annual adult education and kink lifestyle event “promises to bring perpetual pleasure, permanent play and infinite sin,” through a variety of workshops, networking opportunities and play parties.
“We are so excited to have Feminista Jones join the Sin Family this year,” proclaimed Jazz, Sin in the City’s producer. “Her passion for activism and alternative sexuality makes her the perfect fit for the sex conference with a social conscience. Here at the intersection of porn and politics, when we’re launching our new Advocacy Educational Track, Feminista makes perfect sense as a featured contributor to the world’s raunchiest adult event fighting for sexual freedom.”
From 2013-2016, Jones was the Love & Sex editor for BlogHer.com and a sex columnist for Ebony Magazine. Her thought-provoking writing about sex, sexuality, kink, and more has been featured in a variety of publications including the New York Times, Washington Post, Time, Complex, Essence, Salon, and Vox.
As a member of SEXx Interactive, a group devoted to creating space for sex-positive education, art, and activism, Jones is also an educator on Hip-Hop sexuality, feminism in BDSM/kink, and queer identity at various conferences, including the Woodhull Sexual Freedom Summit and the Poly Dallas Millennium Conference. This summer, she will be a featured presenter at The Journey Con.
Additionally, Jones' debut novel, an erotic BDSM story centering Black identity titled "Push The Button," has currently sold thousands of copies in over ten countries and counting. Her most recent book, "Reclaiming Our Space: How Black Feminists Are Changing the World From the Tweets to the Streets," was released this year to critical acclaim.
"Feminista brings a beautiful and unique voice to the conference with the diversity of her background, interests, experiences, and advocacy," noted a rep. "Her passions for writing and supporting marginalized people have changed the lives of countless humans, and Sin in the City is proud to bring her on board for 2020."
