Babeland Signs On as Sex Expo NY Platinum, Workshop Sponsor

NEW YORK — Babeland is returning as a platinum sponsor for Sex Expo New York 2019, where the sex-positive retail chain will be hosting workshops as well as showcasing an array of pleasure products.

Sex Expo is presented by premier cam network Chaturbate and set for the weekend of Sept. 21-22 at the Brooklyn Expo Center.

“Babeland is excited to be returning to Sex Expo in Brooklyn this year as a platinum sponsor,” said Lisa Finn, brand manager and sex educator for Babeland. “Attendees that visit Babeland’s booth can expect an engaging and empowering experience as they chat with our diverse staff of trained sex educators. Babeland’s educators are ready to answer any sex toy-related questions and share their best tips, tricks and advice about incorporating toys into the bedroom — straight from our expansive roster of workshops and classes.”

Finn added, “Babeland will also be offering a curated selection of products for all levels of experience, with categories ranging from vibrators to BDSM and more. Shoppers will enjoy an exclusive discount at the expo. In addition, we’ll have giveaways, goodies and the chance to win a $100 Babeland gift card.”

Launched with a store in Seattle in 1993 by Rachel Venning and Claire Cavannah, Babeland was originally called Toys in Babeland (a name inspired by the all-female alternative rock band Babes in Toyland) but shortened its name to Babeland in 2005. The chain presently operates the ecommerce site, Babeland.com, and has four brick-and-mortar stores: one in Seattle, one in Brooklyn and two in Lower Manhattan.

Although Babeland was acquired by another sex-positive adult retail chain, Good Vibrations, in 2017, Babeland and Good Vibrations have been operating as separate brands. Good Vibrations was founded in San Francisco in 1977 by the late Joani Blank and is celebrating its 42nd anniversary this year.
