CYBERSPACE — The frenzied faithful who plan to storm Area 51 next month may not find flying saucers filled with little green men from outer space, but they will find the Strippermobile.
Over 2 million people have signed up on Facebook for the surging internet phenomenon set for September 20 at Area 51, the United States Air Force testing and training facility in Nevada. The viral nature of the meme has been spiked by amused headlines around the globe, prompting Nevada officials to warn against trespassing.
It’s unclear how many of those who have declared interest intend to take part. But Déjà Vu Services will be prepared with its Strippermobile. Déjà Vu, headquartered in Sin City, is among the largest operators of adult entertainment businesses in the state.
Their venues include Little Darlings, a string of Larry Flynt's Hustler clubs and the Love Boutiques. Little Darlings Las Vegas recently celebrated its 25th anniversary in its current location, and the company has recently opened The Cat’s Meow, a karaoke nightclub.
Déjà Vu is marshaling its resources for a response — billed as “The Ultimate Alien Tailgate Party” — to the Area 51 meme. “Come September 20th, we’ll be there,” said Ryan Carlson, director of operations. “We know what most Americans know — that strippers make any event better — and this one will be no exception.”
More than a dozen performers will appear aboard the Strippermobile to entertain alien hunters in need of respite. “We don’t know if there’s aliens at Area 51, but if there are, they’ll be entertained upon their rescue, along with any partygoers that attend,” Carlson said. “After all, if an iconic institution like the American strip club isn’t a way to welcome our extraterrestrial friends, then we don’t know what is.”
