ASACP to Discuss Current State of Online Child Protection at QWEBEC Expo

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has returned to the QWEBEC Expo, underway this week at the Novotel Hotel in Montreal.

ASACP has taken part in the QWEBEC Expo since the show’s inception, relying on the venue to help deliver its message of proactive corporate self-regulation and the value of protecting children online to an international group of adult entertainment and digital media professionals.

ASACP’s Executive Director, Tim Henning, will attend the event as part of the association’s outreach to relevant stakeholders.

While at the event, Henning will take part in the 11th annual QWEBEC Masters Golf Tournament today at the Montreal Island Golf Club as a guest of leading live cam company CAM4.

“ASACP uses events such as QWEBEC Expo to help educate relevant businesses about the need to protect children online, and how free ASACP services such as the Restricted To Adults (RTA) website meta-label, Best Practices and Code of Ethics, help accomplish this,” Henning said. “QWEBEC Expo attracts a global audience that includes representatives of many prestigious Canadian companies — among the digital media industry’s largest and most vibrant — making this a ‘must-attend’ event for the association.”

QWEBEC Expo is providing ASACP with complimentary admission to the event, an ad in the event’s show guide, a booth on the show floor where informational materials will be available and a table at the popular “Meet Market” networking event.

“QWEBEC Expo is honored to support ASACP and RTA this year by giving them as much exposure as possible,” said event organizer Michael Plante. “Tim and his team do a tremendous job of helping mainstream audiences understand that the legitimate adult industry community has no links to CP and is fighting this heinous crime against children.”

Henning’s outreach will include his presentation titled “Current Child Protection Issues” that will explore how companies are successfully securing their apps and sites today through the use of RTA labeling and what the future holds, including up-to-date information on age verification mandates, adult content blocking initiatives and more.

The session is set for Thursday from 2:30-3 p.m. local time in the Algarve Room.

“A big part of ASACP’s mission involves governmental and industry outreach, with sessions such as this providing a vital touchpoint between the association and various stakeholders,” Henning said. "Attending QWEBEC Expo enables us to reach executives from adult entertainment companies along with individual content publishers and promoters, making a real difference in online child safety.”
