CYBERSPACE — Nacho Vidal has released a new video in which he claims that a diagnosis of Reiter’s Syndrome likely resulted in a false-positive result on a recent HIV test, news of which was leaked to European news outlets, prompting a media swarm and what Vidal identifies as “excessive” bullying on social media.
Today’s clip, released to Vidal’s YouTube channel, is a follow-up to a video released earlier this week in which he reveals how he was first informed of his HIV diagnosis, which he now claims was a false-positive, and the actions he took immediately afterwards.
The new clip, like the first installment, is filmed in low light, accompanied by a dramatic underscore, and features Vidal speaking directly to the camera in his native Spanish, with English-language subtitles, from what appears to be his home office in Colombia.
Vidal spends most of the 13-minute clip detailing his many painful, paralyzing symptoms and his multiple trips to various doctors until he received his diagnosis of Reiter’s Syndrome.
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center describes Reiter’s Syndrome, now known as “reactive arthritis,” as “a type of arthritis that occurs because of an infection… Reactive arthritis is not contagious, but it’s caused by some infections that are contagious. The infections that most often cause the disease are spread through sexual contact.”
Vidal notes that he has contracted various, treatable STIs such as chlamydia and gonorrhea dozens of times throughout his on-camera career.
As the new clip draws to a close, the longtime filmmaker reveals that he cannot work any longer due to the effects of Reiter’s Syndrome. He also admits to ennui regarding his ability to produce what he believes to be authentic porn and announces that he is seeking to reinvent himself.
Vidal reserves vitriol for those who have attacked him in recent months, believing him to be HIV-positive, and expresses gratitude to those who have offered him their support.
