CYBERSPACE — Australia’s Lightsouthern has released “RED,” their second feature for the year, starring Madison Missina.
“RED” features POV scenes created in what Lightsouthern bills as “doco-style.”
The scenes are “captured, in the visually impactful 'punch to the jaw' that Lightsouthern is known for, across the red dirt of Australia,” said a rep.
“RED” has been selected for the 2019 Berlin Porn Film Festival and will be shown in the Female Porn Shorts screenings on October 24 and at The Moviemento in Berlin Kreuzberg.
“Road movies have always sung to me. 'Momentum' Nos. 1 and 4 were essentially road movies too, but ‘RED’ takes it to a whole other, almost sinister level” said director Michelle Flynn, who deliberately made the POV actor of indeterminate gender.
"there are some scenes that you can’t tell the gender of the other performer and we both wanted to throw those ambiguities to the viewer” Flynn said. “The film questions authenticity in porn performance, feminism and the validity of performance itself for the viewer.”
“But it’s also just super sexy,” she added.
This is the ninth feature title for Madison Missina, who has been working as an adult performer since 2012.
“Over my career I’ve noticed that porn storylines have focuses on the performer doing certain things,” said Missina. “I really enjoyed how with ‘RED’ we were deliberately trying to give the viewer a specific experience. The film was made to give the viewer a sense of anonymity, which is the recurrent theme with my role throughout the film.”
Lightsouthern and Missina are both nominated for multiple awards at next week’s Australian Adult Industry Awards, which will be held Wednesday, October 16.
