NEW YORK — The Museum Of Sex in New York held a private preview of its new exhibition, “Super Funland: Journey into the Erotic Carnival” this past Wednesday.
The exhibition was created by several prominent artists and designers, including Bompas & Parr, Bart Hess, Rebecca Purcell and Snohetta. Originally conceived by Serge Becker, the installation is curated byLissa Rivera.
"'Super Funland' is an interactive installation of thirteen humorously explicit games and amusements, created by an international team of prominent artists and designers, that re-imagines the carnival in all of its carnality and simple joy for a contemporary adult audience,” said a representative. “Guests will uncover the carnival’s bacchanalian origins and licentious evolution from antiquity to pre-industrial Europe and the World’s Fairs of the 20th century.”
The exhibit includes a “RuPaul Knows All” fortune-telling machine, a “Glory Stall” and “The Climax: Climbing Challenge.”
The preview on October 16 brought out several stars, including actresses Gina Gershon and Talli Lennox, musicians Miguel and Ian Mellencamp, and dynasty scions Conor and Kyra Kennedy.
