HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — Adam & Eve has released the results of their annual sex survey that uncovers the central role lingerie plays in the sex lives of male-female couples.
The poll, conducted by "an independent third party survey company," a rep notes, asked 1,000 adults how they felt about lingerie. According to the company, 56 percent of respondents said they enjoy buying or receiving lingerie, and 26 percent said that lingerie was an important component to their sex life.
"Lingerie is a $13 billion industry in the United States alone," said Adam & Eve's Dr. Jenni Skyler. "Wearing lingerie can help someone feel more embodied in their sensuality — allowing them to take ownership and feel empowered with the sensual side of themselves. I encourage couples to talk to one another to find out if, or how, lingerie plays a role in their sex lives."
