CineKink Film Festival Announces 2020 Dates, Calls for Entries

NEW YORK — Festival organizers have announced dates for the 17th annual CineKink NYC film festival, set for March 18-22, 2020.

Billing itself as "the kinky film festival," the event is presented by CineKink, an organization dedicated to the recognition and encouragement of sex-positive and kink-friendly depictions in film and television. With offerings drawn from both the independent cinema world and the adult industry, works presented at CineKink NYC will range from documentary to drama, comedy to experimental, "slightly spicy to quite explicit, and everything in between," teased a rep.

In addition, plans for CineKink NYC include a short film competition, audience choice awards, a "Bring It!" showdown of adult cinema, panels and workshops, a kick-off gala, and an "Afterglow" play party to wrap the festivities. A national tour is set to take place in the months following the festival, showcasing audience favorites from the NYC selections.

"As always, we're looking to blur some boundaries and mix things up a bit," said Lisa Vandever, co-founder and director of CineKink. "People naturally focus on the 'kink' in our name, but really, as long as it involves consenting adults, just about anything celebrating sex as a right of self expression is fair game for us."

A call for entries to submit works for CineKink 2020 is currently open, with a late deadline on December 2, and a final deadline of December 30.

The festival line-up and schedule for CineKink NYC will be announced in February.
