XBIZ Unveils Reimagined Awards Statuette

LOS ANGELES — Kicking off a new decade of honoring excellence in true Tinseltown style, XBIZ is pleased to unveil the strikingly redesigned statuette that winners of the 2020 XBIZ Awards will take home next month.

The all-new trophy is the most recent incarnation of the iconic award that has come to symbolize the best in the business of pleasure. In recent years, the original crystal-glass trophy has evolved along with the show’s expansion — from its earliest days with just seven categories to 2020’s highly anticipated extravaganza that will present the most comprehensive array of industry honors across 160-plus categories, covering movie production, technology, pleasure products and retail.

It was the pending start of the 2020s that prompted a nostalgic examination of the history behind the storied XBIZ Awards. The very first ceremony solely honored behind-the-scenes players whose innovations kept the business thriving. And some of those categories remain to this day, underscoring XBIZ’s founding commitment to support and lionize the often-unsung work of industry trailblazers.

Within a few years, the XBIZ Awards outgrew its intimate origins, with the celebration circulating among L.A. hotspots, including the famed Hollywood Palladium, and then onto the grandest special event venues in the city. From a congenial ceremony presided over by XBIZ staffers, the roster of A-list hosts now includes such worldwide icons as Stormy Daniels, Jessica Drake, Tera Patrick and Stoya.

As for the original award, a starkly beautiful crystal-glass tower with a proud profile, it remained an industry fixture until 2016, when the trophy was transformed into gleaming gold for a unique symbol of exceptional achievement.

Dedicated to serving the most upscale, all-inclusive ceremony that honors every facet of adult, the XBIZ Awards has become a star-studded event and world-famous gala accompanied by mainstream buzz, with members of the press flocking to it for an up-close glimpse of the biggest names in the business.

And with the new XBIZ Awards trophy standing 13 inches tall atop a circular base, zinc-cast in dazzling gold and custom-produced from the highest quality materials, the iconic laurel rises to usher in a new decade of excellence.

“The ‘X’ in XBIZ symbolizes ‘sex,’ encompassing all facets of adult,” Founder and Publisher Alec Helmy enthused. “So it felt only natural to center the design on this iconic element. The sharply defined edges and its alluring curves give the trophy a truly distinct look, making this the boldest symbol of industry success.”

The statuette will make its debut during XBIZ 2020, when the inaugural XBIZ Honors are announced at the Andaz Hotel in West Hollywood January 14-15 and the 2020 XBIZ Awards are revealed January 16 at the JW Marriott L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles.
