FeelRobotics, Immersion to Offer Enhanced Haptic Tech

AMSTERDAM — FeelRobotics and Immersion Corp., a developer of touch-feedback technology, have signed a commercial agreement to offer Immersion’s haptic software and technology stack on FeelRobotics’ cloud-based platform solution for interactive adult experiences. 

The agreement enables both companies to jointly introduce new, advanced haptic experiences to the sexual wellness market.

FeelRobotics, whose clients include Kiiroo, We-Vibe and OhMiBod, further explained that "under the agreement, Immersion will provide FeelRobotics with an exclusive license to integrate and utilize its haptic software and technology on FeelRobotics’ platform and services for sex tech devices."

The agreement will effectively establish "first-of-its-kind, two-way haptic experiences, including interactivity with content and internet-connected remotely controlled devices," advancements that reps are touting will "set new standards in the sexual wellness market."

Immersion's new tech will enable "a greater range of high-fidelity haptic motions and effects."

The enhanced technology is set to be rolled out in Kiiroo products, although FeelRobotics has said that it plans to make the technology available for licensing via a subscription model to other device OEMs and third-party content developers. Immersion's patent portfolio reportedly includes patents related to advanced control of haptic devices by online content and applications, audio-to-vibe functionality and related haptic use cases.

Regarding the new agreement, FeelRobotics CEO Toon Timmermans said that the company is "excited to collaborate with Immersion to lead the market into a new era of connected, intimate digital experiences.

"Immersion’s haptic technology stack provides the right toolset for us to enable high fidelity haptic experiences on our technology platform and content services."

Similarly, Immersion's Ramzi Haidamus shared, "This agreement with FeelRobotics is an opportunity for Immersion to continue to drive the adoption of haptics and grow the company in a new market. We’re working with an innovative leader in the sexual wellness market who understands the value and potential of using haptic technology in connected devices to bring people closer together."
