MESA, Ariz. — Kick Ass Pictures has announced that it will halt worldwide production as a precaution in response to the coronavirus outbreak.
Company reps say that the precautionary decision was made in an effort to ensure performer health and safety amidst public health concerns.
“Performer safety and comfort has always been our main priority and will continue to be," said Kick Ass' Melissa Campos. "With the coronavirus continuing to spread we feel it is our responsibility to keep our performers safe.”
The Kick Ass network of sites will continue to update with content shot prior to the shutdown, remastered classics and shared content from other studios in the industry. Following suit with other events and closures, Kick Ass will halt production until the end of March, at which time it will evaluate whether to lift or extend the shutdown.
“I know that some of our members and fans will be disappointed but right now all we can think about is the safety of those that shoot for us," said Affiliate Manager Micky. "We ask our current members to be patient and enjoy the content that we will be putting up for them. We did not come to this decision lightly but we hope our members will ride out the storm with us.”
