NEW YORK — Following Monday's announcement that CineKink film festival, set to kick off next week, would go on as planned, organizers announced today that the festival will be postponed until further notice, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement posted to Twitter, organizers thanked their venue partners and announced that they'd be exploring alternative ways to honor filmmakers that were scheduled to screen at the festival next week.
"A reversal of our recent 'the show must go on' bravado, we have reached the difficult decision that the best course for all of us, in light of the escalating situation around COVID-19, is to postpone CineKink NYC until a later date," the statement reads.
"So much love to those of you you whose work was intended to screen with us next week…We’ll be updating you all as soon as we can with dates for a rescheduled CineKink NYC 2020."
