Mistress Eva Discusses COVID-19's Effects on BDSM Community in New Podcast

BALI, Indonesia — Mistress Eva, co-host of the new "Safeword" podcast, is highlighting the effects that the coronavirus global pandemic is having on the BDSM community in the series' latest episode.

In the new episode, Mistress Eva is joined by co-host Dirk Hooper as the duo discuss responses from a question posted to Twitter, asking the kink community how coronavirus has effected their play and any tips they might have.

Eva noted that "lifestylers are making changes, but professional dominatrices are hyper-aware of precautions, and taking them. Many, if not most, have stopped in-person sessions worldwide and are trying online cam and clip sites, even if they haven’t before."

Additionally, Eva announced that they have been hosting video hangouts centered around kink in an effort to keep the community connected and spirits up.

She and Hooper also discuss sex workers’ lack of and need for a solid support system, proactive unions and healthcare, calling on listeners to donate to sex worker advocacy and service organizations.

Providers suffering hardships during this crisis are encouraged to reach out to programs such as SWOP, Stroll PDX and Sex Workers Project in the U.S., and SWARM and Sex Workers Alliance Ireland in the U.K. for assistance.
