LOS ANGELES — Performers Jack Vidra and Cain Marko exchanged vows this Saturday during a small ceremony attended by a handful of people and many more, in accordance with social distancing guidelines, watching via livestream.
"He had told me one day, 'I want to be married to you more than I want to get married,'" Vidra told Out.com's Mikelle Street. "'The wedding is not that important to me, but I want to be married to you.'"
The ceremony, held in Vidra's Chicago apartment, included a handfasting ceremony, champagne and cake.
Vidra and Marko met several years ago and became acquainted online. They continued to encounter each other around the country and finally became friendly when Marko moved to the Windy City last summer. A photo shoot in October 2019 sealed the deal.
"It was just a really awesome day, and every single photo from that day is just incredible," Vidra recalled. "You can just kind of feel the chemistry — it was just amazing. We looked back on it and we were both, you know, kind of dancing around the issue saying that it was a very special day. He told me, 'One day I'll tell you what was going through my mind that day.' And that was also the day that I realized I loved him."
