ManyVids Reports Rapid Rise in New Content Creators

MONTREAL — ManyVids reports over 89,000 new independent content creators, known as “MV Stars,” have joined its platform in recent weeks.

According to a company rep, "the world's oldest profession" has proven its resilience during this time of crisis.

"Since the crisis began, online entertainers and sex workers are turning to ManyVids’ adult marketplace platform to produce, promote and distribute their content via video-hosting and live-streaming services in record amounts," said the rep.

In March, ManyVids reported "record growth across multiple fronts," compared to 2019’s daily average. The company described an increase of 51 percent in video uploads, while membership grew 80 percent and MV Stars joining the platform rose by 69 percent.

“As more and more are laid off, working remotely or sheltering in place, the at-home aspect of online entertainment and sex work is poised to create a major opportunity for people both in and out of the adult community,” ManyVids CEO Bella French revealed.

“ManyVids provides these entrepreneurs with a viable income that can, but does not necessarily, include adult content,” French added. “To better showcase the growing trend of safe-for-work (SFW) content, we’ve added thousands of new categories that cover everything from fitness and music to comedy and fashion and more, to welcome anyone who wants to showcase their content.”

While social distancing guidelines remain in place, the popularity of webcamming has also continued to grow.

The rep noted that since March 1, tokens or tips have "increased significantly" for live shows on MV Live, and the number of MV Stars performing live is up by 42 percent.
