Good Vibrations Raises $28K to Benefit Local Food Banks

SAN FRANCISCO — The customers of Good Vibrations outlets in Boston and the San Francisco Bay Area have raised $28,553 since October 2019, via the chain's GiVe program, to benefit a variety of local nonprofit food banks.

"GiVe, also known as Good Vibrations Gives Back, is the retailer’s program that uses the engagement of its customer base to drive donations to worthy nonprofits; the company passes 100% of the donated funds to each quarter’s GiVe recipients," explained a representative.

The San Francisco Marin Food Bank, Alameda Food Bank, Second Harvest Santa Cruz, Second Harvest Silicon Valley and Rosie's Place, the historic Boston women’s shelter that also hosts a food bank, benefitted from this round of support.

"Good Vibrations chose food banks for its 2019 fourth quarter GiVe recipients to address food insecurity around the holidays and were so gratified by the response that they continued to raise funds into the first quarter of 2020," the rep continued. "Now, these important community resources are more vital than ever, as the COVID-19 pandemic affects jobs, household income and health. The Good Vibrations staff encourages those who can give to donate generously to these indispensable local resources; we need to get through these tough times together."

Education Director Andy Duran praised the spirit of giving among the chain's loyal customer base.

“These funds were collected from our amazing customers that stepped up to help their community in need,” he said. “We’re so grateful we can serve as a vehicle for community fundraising and want to thank our customers for their continuous generosity. These organizations have been wonderful to work with and we are so honored to have partnered with them.”
