LOS ANGELES — Alicia Rio has announced she will star in a mainstream movie, "3 Flowers," which is about three generations of a gang throughout the 1940s, '70s and '90s.
In the movie, written and directed by Christopher Baiza, she plays the role of "Celia" (aka “La Bomba”). It is slated to begin filming in August. According to a rep, although Rio no longer does traditional studio shoots in adult, she produces her own indie content and has also been in talks with other mainstream companies for their projects.
“I’m so excited about this new phase of my life," she said. "I will always be thankful to the adult industry, I have so many good memories of working with all of these companies and performers, but mainstream is something that I’ve been wanting to do for a long time, and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to be doing this now, and very thankful that Christopher cast me."
"My ultimate dream is to be in a feature film with Jennifer Lopez and Salma Hayek," she continued, "where they meet their girl crush — me."
Rio can be followed on Twitter, SextPanther and Instagram.
